The Tarnished Mirror of the World
|aftercalais||Apr. 23rd, 2012 05:33 pm|
Um, hey! So it was lovely to find this community; as I adored Regeneration (it's rare for me to love a book that I have to study under duress) and as an extension, I also fell in love with Mr. Sassoon and his poetry, as well as Owen's. I wrote this as a one shot, based on his poem, The Dug-Out. It's one of my favourite poems to date, and I think it will always have a special place in my heart.1 comment - Leave a comment

Hello tarnishedmirror! Possibly relevant to some interests: for Yuletide this year I wrote Regeneration fic.Leave a comment
Where Unknown, There Place Monsters

|aves_y_cielo||Dec. 24th, 2011 12:35 pm oooooo regen fans! :d|
literally was so excited when i discovered tarnishedmirror. :)
so if I was Pat Barker, I would have put wayyy more Owen/Sassoon slash in those books! Granted she drops enough subtle hints to give the assumption that they had a very 'close' relationship, although I think they would have wanted more than that tbh...
If any of you guys are interested, I've started a fic on them (my very first :S *trembles*, please be nice!) over on fanfiction.net:
These Arms That Were Your Home » by avesycielo
It's July 1917 when poet Siegfried Sassoon is sent to Craiglockheart War Hospital. Desperate to get out of 'Dottyville', though determined to stand up for his cause, Sassoon unexpectedly discovers something more beautiful and important to him than it all.
Regeneration - Rated: M - English - Romance/Hurt/Comfort - Chapters: 3 - Words: 7,242 - Published: 12-23-11
It's pretty high on the slash rating and rated M :S so if you don't like that kind of stuff, don't read it, but if you do, I hope you enjoy! :D

So apparently I'm only capable of coming here with crossover fic. Sorry!
Title: Talk to Strangers
Fandom(s): Regeneration/Being Human
Pairing: Prior/Mitchell, suggestions of Prior/Rivers
Summary: When I found out that Mitchell, Being Human's resident vampire, was canonically changed during the First World War, I kind of had to write this.
A/N: Should be followable if you've no real knowledge of Being Human, hopefully? This is a late present for moogle62's birthday.

I feel as though I should get a prize. In a moment of unprecedented genius, I managed to log in here as light_maiden and make my reincarnation parenthesised omnipotent. In my mind this is a little like time travel.
In other words... I'm going to be able to go and rescue Prior... Very Soon!
However, as well as merely spamming you about my administrative prowess, I thought I'd try talking about something interesting. At the moment I am spending most of my spare energy on The Book of Doom (if you know me, you are probably very bored of hearing about this.) But what you don't know about is the prequel.
You see, ( there is magic in the Book of Doom. Collapse )

Hey, I read Regeneration as apart of my Literature course last year, and fell madly in love with it (and especially Prior ^^). I wrote this as apart of my Assessment, but had so much fun doing it... like glorified fanfiction12 comments - Leave a comment
Characters: Owen, Sassoon
Pairing: Gen, but if you squint real hard you can see Sassoon/Owen
Summery: Letters from Owen to Sassoon after they have left Craiglockhart, and Sassoon is at the front to a few weeks before Owen is killed

I'm only at the 2nd book but for me this is the most obvious pairing and the one which is sexiest and with the most chemistry. I'm really surprised there aren't anyone who writes them. I just love the way Prior seems to flirt with Rivers. 5 comments - Leave a comment
My favorite moment so far has to be near the end of the 2nd book. Maybe it's just my slash-tinted glasses but after the alternate "violent" Prior first appeared to Rivers, and then our Billy said "maybe you just aren't his type," I was going "oh but he's definitely your type isn't he?".
So does anyone else like them together? Any fic recs if there are any?
|lo0o0ony_lauren||Jul. 16th, 2008 02:39 am crossover fic.|
Hello! Well, I was reluctant to shove this thing all over the internets, but strangeumbrella - whose birthday it was written for - is sat beside me at the moment, forcing me to post it here, which, yes. I'm apparently quite easily persuaded?
Title: To The End
Summary: This is Prior-centric and based mainly in the Torchwood universe - an AU of the episode 'To The Last Man', if that means anything to anybody?
Warnings: This is basically as tame as anything, but it is a crossover, so the plot mightn't make much sense to people who haven't seen the episode it's based around...but there is a summary on wikipedia? Also there’s a bit of swearing, occasionally.
( There is no other course open to us but to fight it out. Every position must be held to the last man: there must be no retirement. With our backs to the wall and believing in the justice of our cause each one of us must fight on to the end. )

New here! I'm a long-time devotee of T.E. Lawrence and his peers; particularly Robert Graves and Siegfried Sassoon. I recently read Regeneration, and now I have to see the movie, don't I. My work is never done!Leave a comment
I have nothing real to offer right now, except a link to some squealing (with pictures) I did a couple of weeks ago over a play about my boys Lawrence and Graves. No "subtext" needed: it was entirely in the text! *shrieks with joy*
The Oxford Roof Climber's Rebellion
PS: You can buy the script on Amazon, but it plays a LOT better than it reads.
